Conference Fee
The conference fee includes:

*Please advise of any special dietary requirements when you register online (vegetarian, vegan, halal, nut allergy, etc...). This will allow us to cater to your needs.

In order to benefit from the member fee, you must be a fully-paid EurOMA member for 2014. For those registering as non-members, the fee includes membership to EurOMA for the rest of 2014 only for the remaining period of 2014, not for the following year. Company visits are charged separately.

Student Registration
To qualify for the student rate, written proof of your status is required. A letter signed by the person responsible for the programme at your university or your supervisor, or a copy of your valid student card should be sent to the event organisers at registration@euroma2014italy.org

Early Registration Conditions
All early registration fees must be paid in full by the end of the early registration date of 15 April 2014. Unpaid registrations after this date will be converted to the relevant late fee structure.

Administrative Fee
All options extra, accomodation, shuttle bus, tours can be booked when registe ring online to attend the Conference. Will be subject to a € 30 vat included administrative fee.

Cancellation
If you cannot attend the conference, you may transfer your registration to another member of your organization. Notification of cancellation or transfer must be given in writing to the event organisers at registration@euroma2014italy.org
Cancellations made before 6 May 2014 will be charged at €60 for administrative costs.

We regret that no refunds can be made for any cancellation received after 7 May 2014. The organisers reserve the right to charge for any accommodation or meals not taken.

The deadline for submission of abstract is 07 January 2014. We welcome abstracts from a variety of Operations Management topics and in particular, those that fit well with the conference theme. The conference will be preceded by a Doctoral Seminar, a Publishing Workshop and a Young Scholars Workshop.

Accommodations

All accommodation options below can be booked when registering online to attend the conference. If any of the following accommodations is not displayed on the registration form, this is because its rooms are not available anymore.

Besides the Hotels, which are partners of our conference, we also suggest some Bed&Breakfast options. Please notice that B&B options CANNOT be booked in our website, but through well-known accommodation reservation websites or directly in their own website.

Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa

The Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa was opened at beginning of 2010, the “project” G.H. Piazza Borsa, merges three adjacent buildings in the historical centre of Palermo into one large hotel structure. The central part of the structure used to be the convent and the large church of Mercedarian Fathers (XVI cen.).
Both the cloister, characterised by daringly high porticos, and the old convent door have remained practically unchanged.
In 1907, the church of the Immaculate Conception Cartari was demolished. In its place, the architect Ernesto Basile built the headquarters of the "Cassa Centrale di Risparmio Vittorio Emanuele. The building was inaugurated in 1912 and is yet another example of Basile's pre-eminence as promoter of the Liberty style in Italy.
All of the City’s attractions  - squares, parks, monuments, shopping streets and much more - can be found within 500 metres of the hotel. The windows of each room offer different points of view of the constantly changing heart of the town.
Our 127 rooms offer as many different experiences of Palermo, as you could desire. Each room has its own separate design and personality, but all of them aim to provide maximum comfort, from the most exclusive suite to the snuggest single room.
The meeting rooms are available on several floors: ground floor, first and second.
Meeting rooms can always be reached both from the hotel entrances and via independent access.

Monumental Tours

Monumental Palermo Tour

We are going to discover the masterpieces of the 12th century in Palermo. In Piazza Bellini, we shall visit the Church Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio, also known as "Martorana" entusiastically described by the travellers of the Middle Ages.
Another jewel in Piazza Bellini is San Cataldo Church with its red domes.
And, last but not least, we shall move to the Norman Palace and its marvellous Palatine Chapel, the private Chapel of the Royal Family.

 We also go to two of the masterieces of palermitan Baroque, the Chiesa del Gesù or Casa Professa and the Oratorio di San Lorenzo.

Casa Professa, situated in the hearth of the Albergheria distrisct, is the one of the best example of "marmi mischi" decoration. After this immersion in the coloured marbles we shall plunge in the white world created by Giacomo Serpotta. You will be surprised by the atmosphere of the small oratory entirely decorated with stucco. You will be welcomed by the famous chubby puttos of the oratory.

Monreale Tour

Monreale's Cathedral, perhaps the most famous church in Sicily, is the last masterpiece of the Norman period. The last Norman king, William II, wanted it to be built in the second half of the 12th century.
The church, Santa Maria La Nuova, is covered with more than 6000 square metres of mosaic, telling the stories of Old and New Testament, the life of St. Peter and St. Paul, everything dominated by the image of the Pantocrator, the Almighty Christ.
After the Cathedral we shall move to Benedictine Cloister with its 228 capitals.

Sustainable Operations Management
The papers in this special issue focus on different aspects of sustainability. Three papers have a predominantly environmental focus, looking at green products, processes and SCM (Prajogo et al., 2014), and reductions in pollution, waste and energy (Petkova and Dam, 2014; Blome et al., 2014). One paper focuses on social sustainability in Bangladesh (Huq et al., 2014), which is encouraging giving the paucity of research on developing countries. The final two papers investigate a broad range of sustainability issues (Roehrich et al., 2014; Fabbe-Costes et al., 2014).

Procuring and managing complex performance
This special issue on Procuring and Managing Complex Performance examines the multiple challenges of managing operations in environments that have complex infrastructural and performance requirements. As an emerging area in business-to-business research it seeks to combine theory on complexity, purchasing and supply, markets and innovation management.

Trends in modern operations management
This double special issue contains ten papers which fall loosely into the following themes: servitization; e-operations; outsourcing; leanness and agility; performance measurement. The issue includes theoretical and empirical insights to bridge the gap between academic and practical perspectives. The authors hope that this research will act as a key point of reference for those wishing to conduct follow-on research into these operations management trends.
